Cinema: Where anything can happen, just let your imagination run wild...
So I decided to write a blog, and I know what you are thinking oh she must be bored she needs something to do with her time… True. But also it is because I love cinema. I also really love cupcakes, It is not so much because they taste so good, but I really like the way they look and they just make me happy , I can’t explain it. Who knew that a little cake dressed with cream and sprinkles could bring so much joy to a person. Ok I am so off point here. Back to movies, I mean, I just love them. If I could I would just watch movies all day. If I could be paid to do so, even better. Sometimes I think I love it a little too much, I don’t mean in a freaky way. I just mean that more than once or twice… okay like all the time, I find myself comparing my life to movies. And then when it does not happen to me, I either get upset and try and think of a film in which a similar situation happened or you know I just remain sad. Anyway, the point is one of the reasons that I love this form of art so much is because it has so much influence over our lives.
So a little bit about myself: as some of you may already know me, I am Esli…hello. I recently completed my University studies and well it is time to be a grown up. And like many others, all I want to do is find myself and my identity … no I just really want to find a job and start the next chapter in my life (cheesy I know)***. Anyway, I am finding it all very scary if I am being honest, I mean not to come across too dramatic but you get to an age where you are like sugar (nice words will be used to replace the more offensive kind) man, I am so not where I thought I would be right now. After university there is no more room for excuses and you have to man up and just be an adult. The university bubble has burst and it is time to get real, to cook for yourself, pay your own bills, buy your own clothes (cries) and you know do adult stuff. Although, let me just say, after a much engaging discussion with friends, It has been concluded that you are not officially stamped as an adult until you have children and are responsible for someone else’s life (Nadia, you are so right). So, until then I say we should just pretend to be grown ups. If it is not obvious to some I am having real issues in coming to terms that life is not rainbows and unicorns.
Anyway, I am straying off the point here again. So this is blog is intended as a platform for me to be able to share my opinions about films. Although be warned that I do mainly like romantic comedies and as a person I am cheesy and dramatic so that may come across in this. Also do not expect anything too intellectual or highbrow, it is just my thoughts, which I wish to share.
I hope you liked my first blog and as I am new, please be gentle with me.
Thank you and much love to you all.
***I now have a job since I first wrote this.
